Creative Europe, which came into force on 1 January 2014, has a €1.46 billion budget over seven years. It combines the European Commission’s existing Culture and MEDIA Programmes and is expected to benefit over 300,000 cultural professionals and reach 100 million European citizens. It will support the distribution of over 1,000 European films in 2,500 cinemas and will translate 5,500 books.
What the funds are that the money came from-
The UK government
Who the companies are that money went to. Do a search for these companies and make notes on:
It's going to the arts council England. And the northern island screen.
arts council England- Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people's lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries - from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections.
Between 2010 and 2015, we will invest £1.9 billion of public money from government and an estimated £1.1 billion from the National Lottery in arts and culture to help create experiences for as many people as possible across the country. And they are in partnership with the BFI.
Northern island screen- Northern Ireland Screen offers various funding programmes across its economic, cultural and educational activities. Funding programmes are available for development and production; skills development is encouraged through both individual and company initiatives, while education and archive, film festivals and cultural cinema receive core funding. And they are also involved in the BFI.
Momentum- Each summer we run four events (three Soul Survivor events and one Momentum event) which last five days each and between them host around 30,000 young people. The rest of the year we keep busy with lots of other events such as retreat weekends, equipping days and Saturday celebrations (see 'other events'). Plus we run Soul Action in partnership with Tearfund to put God’s heart for justice into action.
